The "Glenwood" Griffon Bruxellois

Owned by Mrs Barwell, Keith Cottage, Maidenhead Thicket, Berks. Phone: Littlewick Green 77

A really wonderful kennel of these little Belgians is housed at Keith Cottage, where some of the very best in the world can be seen. Ch Glenwood Gateau, photographed when in full coat, is a real gem, born in march 1932. He won his first CC at the KLA Show in 1933, at the hands of Mrs Johnstone; Mrs Chartes gave him his second at Windsor in 1933; and Mrs Parker-Rhodes his third and made him a champion at Cruft's in 1934.
The same year he was best Griffon at the Club´s annual show, and was again best dog at the same event in 1936. He is siring wonderful puppies. Glenwood Gillie is one of this best daugther. His stud fee is 4 pounds.
Ch Glenwood Galahad was born three years ago. He was first in his puppy class every time shown, and won his first certificate under the late Mr Frank Butler. Mrs Holland Bukley gave him his second, and Mrs lake gave him his third and made him BOB at the Kennel Club Show, where he became entitled to the prefix of Champion, making yet another champion sired by Glenwood Grig. Galahad is a striking Griffon that conforms as nearly as possible to the Griffon Club´s standar of points. He excels in general appearence, is robust, gay and sprightly, has a broad round head, well-carried ears, large eyes set widely apart, huge nostrils, grandly finished and furnished face, deep wide chest, legs of medium length, and a hard red coat with no inclination to curl. he is producing wonderful puppies.
Also in stud is Ch Glenwood Gatty, a smooth winner of five CC´s, that was the best Griffon at the Club Show last year. He is noted for his grand skull and tiny well-set ears, features he passed on to all his progeny.
Glenwood Guardsman is also in stud, he is an attractive son of Ch Glenwood Grig, and is royally bred.
The show bitches include Glenwood Gitana and Glenwood Gillie, both charming and good winners, with one CC each to their credit. As they are wonderful broods, they naturally have periods of absence from the shows or would probably be champions.
There are some good dog puppies by Galahad and a replica of Gaty to make their debut in the New Year.
Two charming puppies by Ch Glenwood Gateau ex Glenwood Gitana are for sale.
